Welcome To NASE

The Namibian Society of Engineers (NASE) is a registered Section 21 non-profit association and community of engineers, technicians, artisans, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) students and learners, as well as allied technical professionals.
The Society is the premier support organization to the engineering fraternity in Namibia, promoting the engineering profession countrywide, adding to its body of knowledge by supporting research, innovation and excellence in STEM. It also advocates for the application of innovative and entrepreneurial engineering knowledge to create jobs and contribute to the economic growth of Namibia and Africa at large. NASE also runs countrywide programs aimed at promoting professional networking and continuous professional & personal development, encouraging and assisting learners who wish to study engineering to make the right career choices; as well as internship programs for graduates and engineers-in-training. It is the organizer and host of the Annual Namibia International Engineering Week.

Milestones

  • NASE is the leader of the ongoing reforms in engineering and industry; and through its concerted efforts, the engineering profession has begun to work in the best interest of the country 
  • Leading in the crafting and finalization of the new and modernized bill to repeal and replace the Engineering Professions Act of 1986
  • NASE Chapters established in the Northern regions of Namibia and at institutions of higher learning
  • Field trip to the just-completed Neckartal Dam in southern Namibia
  • The successful organizing and hosting of the first ever Namibia Engineering Week, which ran from 6 - 8 August 2018 in Windhoek and Ongwediva, attracting industry leaders, guest speakers and exhibitors from as far as South Africa. This event has now been adopted as an annual event on the Society's calendar, and will from now on be known as the Annual Namibia International Engineering Week, open to participants from around the world. In 2019, the event will take place in Windhoek from 2 - 7 September 2019, under the theme "Invent & Innovate: Dream It. Build It."
  • The launch of the "Reinventing Our Future" interactive discussion series on the 25th of October 2018 at the University of Namibia Engineering Campus in Ongwediva. This series is aimed at encouraging the application of engineering knowledge among young engineers to invent and innovate solutions to the challenges facing Africa, as well as products that will emancipate the youth and position Africa as a globally renowned competitor in innovation and research. The series will run for 12 months across the country, and will feature townhall presentations and interactive discussions led by the President of NASE.
